More Than 300 Years of History

In 1717, Guillaume Thyssen opened a wine shop in the stately city building, marking the beginning of the unique story of Thiessen. Our rich history is closely intertwined with that of Maastricht. The charming and impressive building, with no less than 1200 m² of authentic wine cellars, is considered one of the cultural historical gems of the city.

Now, more than three hundred years later, Thiessen is much more than a wine shop. From weddings and dinners to memorials and receptions, our monumental building offers a stylish and versatile environment for special moments in all forms.
